Since their previous house was in a narrow alley, which compromised privacy and the enjoyment of living, the owner envisioned a house that would serve as a comfortable sanctuary for everyone. This is the reason why we designed the floor plan to be in a C shape layout. By placing secondary functions at the front of the house and primary functions at the back, the design ensures privacy while shielding the home from the afternoon sun. Each function is arranged in the order of activities that one usually does while living in the house, from the entrance hall to the second-floor bedroom, to connect the usage continuously and smoothly.
.
The building was designed with an emphasis on openness, spaciousness, and connectivity. Therefore, large floor-to-ceiling glass doors and windows were extensively used instead of solid walls, especially on the side facing the great lawn, which serves as the heart of the house. Each function of the building also extends and retracts to embrace the gardens that integrate into the building harmoniously. These include an inner courtyard, a welcome garden, and gardens on the side and front of the house. Terraces and semi-outdoor spaces serve as transitional zones, connecting the indoor and outdoor environments. This makes family activities not just confined to inside the house, and everyone can experience nature in every moment of their lives within the house.
.
With the intention of accommodating future family growth, the design emphasizes flexibility in both aesthetics and functionality. The house features a sufficient number of bedrooms for new family members and also a bedroom for the elderly. The semi-outdoor foyer can also be adapted for various future uses. The materials used in the house design emphasize natural features such as wood, aluminum frames, dark grey grooved granite walls, silver travertine stone, and white marble. These materials are combined with simple vertical and horizontal linear patterns to create a cozy, comfortable, yet stable atmosphere in the house. Additionally, the diagonal linear pattern of the facade adds dynamism and vitality to the design, while ensuring a safe and joy lifestyle for the family at all times.
